We are excited to announce a FREE special field trip on Sunday, March 23rd, to explore the sacred relics of St. Mardarije of Libertyville. Throughout the month of March, we are focusing on learning about Local Saints, and this trip offers a wonderful opportunity for our children to connect with the life and legacy of St. Mardarije, our March Saint of the Month.
After Divine Liturgy, we will gather for lunch before departing promptly at 12:15 PM (either by bus or individually). Our first stop will be the New Gracanica Serbian Monastery, where we will take a brief yet awe-inspiring tour of the church and its beautiful icons. We will then continue on a short 12-minute drive to the St. Sava Monastery, where we will have the opportunity to venerate the relics of St. Mardarije.
This field trip is open to all families, and it promises to be an enriching and spiritually meaningful experience. We expect to be finished at the Monastery by 3:00 PM, or if taking the bus, return to Holy Apostles by 3:45 PM. We request all families RSVP so we know how many will be on the bus and how many for lunch. Note: Parents do NOT have to come but are more than welcome to join!
